Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport is located approximately 20 km east of the city of Lyon, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It has 2 terminals and is France's fourth largest city airport by passenger traffic.

Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport is the airport serving the Colombier-Saugnieu region of France and is 20km from the city of Lyon. It is named after the writer and pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The airport is an important link to the Rhône-Alpes region, known for its ski resorts, and is connected to the TVG which links Lyon to Marseille and Paris.

Getting from the airport to the city centre will be no problem as there is a wide offer of alternatives.

How to arrive

Regional Bus

Lyon airport is served by buses running 365 days a year to cities in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and by long distance bus lines. You will find buses from different companies just outside the airport. You should be aware which company is the most suitable for your journey.

Bus P5

The P5 bus is the bus destined to the airport and you will also find it right at the entrance of the airport. The total travel time (full rotation) is 20 minutes. The frequencies of passage are as follows:

Every 10 minutes from 4.30am to 1.30am. Every 20 minutes from 1.30 a.m. to 4.30 a.m.

It follows the following itinerary:T1 > T2 > Parking PR3 > Parking P5 (Dakar stop > Calvi > Cancun) > P5 (Berlin stop > Agadir)

Rhônexpress

The Rhônexpress shuttle service connects Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport with Lyon city centre in less than 30 minutes. First departure is at 4:25am from Part-Dieu and at 5am from the airport. The train runs every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes from 4.25am to 6am and from 9pm to midnight. It stands out for its convenience and speed.

SNCF station with TGV and OUIGO

The stop is located a few minutes walk from T1 and T2. The SNCF station allows a quick connection to the airport, the centre of Lyon or any other city that is on the route. There are 29 cities connected daily in France , such as Paris, Grenoble, Marseille, but also in Italy with Turin and Milan with OUIGO and TGV trains .

Taxis

In addition to public transport, you will find numerous taxis outside the airport and in T1 and T2. They can drive you to the centre of Lyon, to other cities in the region and to ski resorts.

Types of airport parkings

Valet (Pickup at terminal)

The fastest and most comfortable way to park in the airport. The driver will be waiting for you at the scheduled time at the terminal. At your return, call the driver, who will deliver your car to you.

Shuttle

The cheapest option: free 5-15 minutes transfer to the terminal. A free shuttle will take you from the parking lot to the terminal and back upon your return.

Inside the airport

The official car park inside the airport facilities. It is normally at walking distance from the terminal, but cheaper long stay car parks sometimes require short transfers.
