There are several ways to reach Vienna Airport. The most convenient option is by car, but you can also get there by public transport, which is fast and efficient. Here are the different options available to ensure you arrive at the airport on time and don't miss your flight.

Getting to Vienna Airport by Public Transport

To reach Vienna Airport by public transport, you can take a train or a bus. The bus is slightly more expensive than the train and takes a bit longer, but it is a convenient option if you are in certain areas of Vienna. Vienna Airport has its own train and bus station, so either option is valid; you just have to choose the one that best suits your situation.

Train

Vienna Airport has its own train station called Flughafen Wien. Regional and long-distance train services connect the airport to the country's capital. The high-speed Railjet trains operated by ÖBB run hourly and take you from the airport to Wien Hauptbahnhof and Wien Meidling stations and vice versa. The travel time between the airport terminals and the center of Vienna is just 15 minutes. ÖBB also offers direct connections between Vienna Airport and Austrian cities such as Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, and St. Pölten through the Intercity Express trains.

Another fast option to reach the airport is the City Airport Train (CAT). This exclusive service connects Wien Mitte and Flughafen Wien stations in just 16 minutes.

Keep in mind that some airlines, including Austrian Airlines, offer tickets that allow free travel between the capital and the airport.

Bus

If you're looking for a more economical option than the City Airport Train, we recommend the services of Vienna Airport Lines or Postbus. All of them arrive at Flughafen Wien Busterminal, the airport's bus station located in front of Terminal 3.

There are three routes:

How to Get to Vienna Airport by Car

From the center of Vienna, you can reach Vienna International Airport by car in about 25 minutes, depending on traffic.
