Where to park near the English Garden (Giardino Inglese) of Palermo

Built by Giovan Battista Filippo Basile in 1851, who was one of the main Italian architects at that time, the English Garden of Palermo follows a model of creation very popular in the 19th century. Indeed, its creator decided not to follow the architecture usually used by Italians which consisted in creating a geometric and measured space, instead he decided to look at the natural forms of soil and spaces. For this occasion, Giovan collaborated with the botanist of Palermo, Vincenzo Tineo, to import plants from all over the world to give the Garden a more exotic side, which was at the time very important. If the weather is favorable for a short walk, the English Garden can be a good option to enjoy nature in the middle of the city.

Park on the street near the Villa Zito

It is possible to park in the streets of Palermo for a very low price, but you have to keep in mind that it is not so easy to find a parking space in the street. Indeed, the city has created a limited traffic zone that extends from Giulio Cesare square to Cavour Piarra Indipendenza avenue, which therefore includes certain conditions. First of all, this area is mainly reserved for residents, and is accessible at certain times : on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and on Saturday from 8am to 1pm. That said, if you want to drive in the ZTL, you will need a daily pass that will have to match the standard of your vehicle. The price depends on your car : 2.50€ for a hybrid car and 5€ for a petrol car. It is essential to have this pass if you want to access this area since the fine may be high on your return.

If you decide not to park in the ZTL, you may be able to find a parking space in the blue areas that have a price of €1 per hour. Keep in mind that at this price, parking space leaves very quickly.
