The Palermo Cathedral is located in the old town of Palermo. It was built in 1185 by Gautier Ophamil, who was, at that time, the archbishop of Palermo, and dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption. The Sicilian style is particularly outstanding on the entire façade of the cathedral thanks to its Arab-Norman style. Although it was built in the twelfth century, its building has continued to evolve over time. Indeed, the towers that frame the facades date from the 14th and 15th centuries while, the bowl and the nave, date from the 18th century, easily recognizable with their baroque style. The Palermo Cathedral is one thing to see if you go to this city. For more informations, click here

It is possible to park in the streets of Palermo for a very low price, but you have to keep in mind that it is not so easy to find a parking space in the street. Indeed, the city has created a limited traffic zone that extends from Giulio Cesare square to Cavour Piarra Indipendenza avenue, which therefore includes certain conditions. First of all, this area is mainly reserved for residents, and is accessible at certain times : on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and on Saturday from 8am to 1pm. That said, if you want to drive in the ZTL, you will need a daily pass that will have to match the standard of your vehicle. The price depends on your car : 2.50€ for a hybrid car and 5€ for a petrol car. It is essential to have this pass if you want to access this area since the fine may be high on your return.
