Where to park in Rennes

The capital of the French region of Brittany, Rennes is located in the northern part of the country and is famous for its medieval style, churches, and design.

Where to park in Rennes

Rennes is the capital of Brittany, located in northwestern France. This beautiful city is very popular for the design of its medieval-style houses and its impressive churches.

You can visit the Tabor Park. South of the Vilaine River is the Museum of Fine Arts with works by Botticelli, Rubens and Picasso, so if you like visiting museums, this is a destination not to be missed.

The cultural center of Les Champs Libres houses the Museum of Brittany and the Espace des Sciences with a planetarium.

If you are in Rennes looking for parking, you should know that almost all parking lots are regulated. That is to say, they have to be paid.

Street parking in Rennes

Street parking is charged from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00, but free parking is possible on Sundays and public holidays.

The red zone is for the downtown area: the city council introduces a parking time limit in the city center of 4 hours for a fee of 34 euros. Otherwise, you will be charged €2 for the first hour and an additional €2 for the following 25 minutes. After 1h25, 1 euro will be added every 5 minutes, so it is important that you are careful not to exceed the time limits, we recommend you always check what zone you are in and the parking conditions.

Suburban green zone: here the maximum parking time is 6h15. So you have to pay 24 euros. It is 1,09 euros per hour. For 2 hours and 45 minutes of parking, the price is 1 EUR per ten minutes.

Blue Zones: Some areas are very popular in their stores and you need to have enough turnover so parking in the blue zone cannot last more than 1h30.

Avoid parking tickets and make sure to pay the parking meter in the area where you park. Payment can be made in cash or by credit card.

Public parking lots

Although you have the option of parking on the street, you may prefer to leave your car in a safer place or avoid fines for parking badly on the street or in a prohibited area.

If this is the case, paid parking lots may be your option, especially if your plan is also to park longer than you can on the street. We recommend that you look for the parking lot that is in the location you need and reserve in advance. Covered parking lots usually have a security service.

Reserve your parking space with parkimeter and secure your spot!
