The 68th edition of Temps de Flors festival in Girona has arrived, a festival that not only offers floral decoration, but also gastronomy and artistic creation. This festival is celebrated from 13th to the 21st of May mainly in the Barri Vell, the historic center of the city. These are 126 floral projects spread over 106 spaces thanks to the collaboration of the Association of Friends of Old Girona and the Friends of Girona Flower Association, in addition to the support of the City Council. It is an excellent event for lovers of floral decoration, but also for gastronomy, since Gastroflors is held at the same time in the most important restaurants in Girona, where chefs delight diners with unique dishes made with flowers. Where to park at the Temps de Flors 2023 festival in Girona
The traffic in Girona will be restricted and the Barri Vell will be closed, so it is important for you to know that parking there will be impossible, unless you live in the area. This restriction will last from May 8th to 23rd, due to the assembly and disassembly of the festival. Remember to plan your trip to Girona well during those days and make sure you know where to park.

Parking on the street in Temps de Flors 2023
Since parking in the center is not possible due to restrictions, it is better to park on the outskirts of the city and go to the event either on foot or by city bus. The bus 7, which increases its frequency during these dates, passing one every 30 minutes and has a price of 1.40 euros. If you prefer, you can go on foot, Girona is not a big city and in just 15 minutes you can reach the old town from the new area (where there are no restrictions and you can park).
Parc de la Devesa area. This beautiful park is not only a must-see, but around it you will find free parking. Keep in mind that the Parque de la Devesa is a very visited park, so it is likely that you will not find a parking space due to the number of visitors that come to the city during the festival.
Avinguda Josep Tarradellas i Joan area. This car park is quite far from the old town, but that shouldn't worry you, since Girona is a small city and it won't take you long to cross from one end to the other. However, if you go with the elderly or with people with reduced mobility, you may prefer to park in more central places. This map will be very useful for finding free parking. Although it’s in Catalan, it’s very visual and you won't find any trouble understanding it.
Park in a car park in Temps de Flors 2023
If you prefer to park in a car park, this option will be the most comfortable and safe. In Girona there are multiple car parks and the majority of them are in the new area (the new town, on the other side of the Onyar river) where you will also find many accommodation and restaurant options. If you park in that area, you will only have to cross the river and you will already be fully within the Temps de Flors 2023 festival. Another event that takes place within Temps de Flors festival in Girona is the Shop Window and Interior Decoration Contest, this being its ninth edition. More than thirty local and commercial establishments participate in this contest. They decorate the shop windows and interiors of their shops with flowers and floral details, from pharmacies to pastry shops, all of them add enthusiasm and imagination, the prize it’s not important. This year, 39 businesses will dress their windows and interiors with flowers and color in this magical week for the people of Girona.
